Dr. Reza Fassihi

Reza Fassihi has over 30 years of experience in petroleum research and development, as well as field application of reservoir management best practices.

Most recently he worked for BHP whereas a Principal Reservoir Engineer, he was responsible for providing assurance on global subsurface projects on issues related to reservoir model validation, surveillance and use of best practices in production forecasting for both conventional and unconventional reservoirs.

Dr. Fassihi has a broad experience in design, plan, and execution of waterflood and EOR projects. His expertise includes reservoir simulation, thermal recovery, SCAL methodology and integration, well testing, reserves estimation, depletion planning, surveillance, and unconventional resource development.

He received his B.S. from Abadan Institute of Technology, Abadan, Iran and M.S. from Stanford University in Chemical Engineering and Ph.D. from the Stanford University of Petroleum Engineering.

He received the best paper presented at the 1988 CIM Meeting and won the SPE Student Paper Contest, PhD Division (1980). He was SPE Distinguished Lecturer and published over 40 reviewed publications.
