Mr. Fred Arasteh
Fred is a veteran of the petroleum industry with over 25 years of experience developing major international petroleum projects. His interest is non-profit community organizations with the goal of enhancing the lives of community members especially Iranian Americans.
Fred is currently with BHP Billiton. Prior to joining BHP, he held the positions of global technical director at Weatherford International. Before Weatherford, Fred worked at Hess, where he played a key role in appraising shale plays such as Eagle Ford and Utica and led the activities for the deepwater offshore GOM. Previous to Hess, he worked for ExxonMobil, where he contributed to the giant North Field Gas development in the Persian Gulf and the giant ACG oil field off the shores of Azerbaijan.
Fred earned his master’s degree in petroleum engineering in 1989 from Montanuniversität Leoben in Austria and has published several papers on tight gas and shale appraisal.
